Description:
The Skin permeability profiler is associated with skin penetration of chemicals such as skin sensitization etc. Modeled endpoint used in the current profiler is: % skin permeability /absorption (SA). The profiler consists of three categories: “High skin permeable”, “Moderate skin permeable” and “Low skin permeable”. The categories are based on parametric boundaries. The values for parametric boundaries ensure maximum specificity given the sensitivity threshold (sensitivity >= 80%; i.e. risk <= 20%). The profiler was developed on a basis of classification tree approach. The process of boundaries generation is oriented towards the hazard predictions of chemicals. The profiler was developed from a dataset of 188 discrete chemicals with observed SA data (extracted from RIFM DB and EDETOX DB and Ates et.al). The profiler is appropriate for classification of chemicals and it is not recommended to be used for predictive purposes.
